IT Academy calls on those who wish to receive training in the ICT sector
In the space of 12 weeks, students will be able to learn one of the three specialities on offer: Back-end, Front-end or Data Science

The ICT sector is the leading sector in generating the most quality jobs in the city of Barcelona, even during the pandemic. It is for this reason that Barcelona Activa’s IT Academy is calling on citizens to receive training in web and data development in only 12 weeks, and to consequently find a job in the digital sector. The training is aimed at those who already have previous training, as well as those who want to start from zero or reinvent themselves professionally.
Demand for digital profiles in businesses is so high that, to promote training and employment in the ICT sector, during 2021 Barcelona Activa will be expanding the number of places, anticipating the formation of up to 800 people. 76% of students that have received training from the IT Academy have already found work in the ICT sector.
The IT Academy’s formative method is based on the learning by doing method, in other words, personalised and flexible self-teaching, which revolves around the simulation of real-life projects. From now, students who sign up to the IT Academy will be able to choose between three specialities: Front-end, Back-end or Data Science.
What do these digital profiles consist of?
● Front-end developer: Mainly makes the visible part of a website, such as its design, layout, colours, animations, effects, etc.
● Back-end developer: In charge of programming the part of the website which is not visible, concentrating on the functions which the website offers and the linked databases.
● Data scientist: Extracts information from a large amount of datasets, combining statistics, mathematics and ICT, with the objective of being able to make strategic decisions.
