Barcelona, 16 Mar 2021

Barcelona Activa has boosted through the social networks the action #CadaDiaÉs8M (Every day is 8th March) to vindicate the fact that equality between men and women, especially in the world of work, is still neither complete nor effective and that it is a struggle that goes beyond International Women's Day.

To convey this message, incomplete images, such as gender equality in the world of work, have been published for two weeks. A path that has yet to be completed and along which we have to continue fighting on a daily and cross-cutting basis, so as to achieve a fairer society.

All the data in the social networks has been taken from the report Women in the labour market’ produced by Barcelona Activa, which emphasises how the pandemic has highlighted the horizontal segregation of the labour market, how almost all sectors show a clearly unfavourable wage gap for women, how the glass ceiling continues to make it difficult for women to advance in their careers even in the positions of more responsibility, or how the essential jobs, barely valued socially and economically, are feminised

Barcelona Activa offers services and programmes to help combat this situation and guarantee employment equality between men and women. For instance, Lidera is the space for growth and networking for professional women, managers and entrepreneurs. For more information, go to the website barcelonactiva.cat/lidera.
