INTERHACK BCN 2026 brings together university talent to develop technological solutions with a positive impact on the city

The interuniversity hackathon will take place at the Tech Park, bringing together students from different universities to work on real-world challenges.

Barcelona, 08 May 2026

The Digital Talent Hub will host a new edition of INTERHACK BCN 2026, an interuniversity hackathon that will bring together students from several Barcelona universities (UPC, UPF, UB and UAB) to collaborate on the development of technology-driven solutions to real-world problems.

Over the course of 36 hours, teams of three to five participants with diverse backgrounds and skill sets will work side by side on projects focused on areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and automation. The initiative aims to foster collaboration among emerging talent and generate innovative proposals that contribute to improving the city.

The event is aimed at university students in Barcelona and welcomes teams of three to five members, including participants from institutions beyond the organising universities. The hackathon format places a strong emphasis on interdisciplinarity and the ability to combine different areas of expertise to address real needs.

The programme will begin on Saturday, 9 May, with the official opening ceremony and conclude on Sunday, 10 May, with the awards presentation. Several prizes will be awarded, with total prize funding starting at €3,000, linked to the different challenges proposed during the event.

Although applications to participate are now closed, sponsorship opportunities are still available for organisations interested in supporting the event and connecting with university talent in the technology sector.

INTERHACK BCN continues to establish itself as a meeting point between universities and the digital ecosystem, with the aim of promoting innovation and strengthening the role of young talent in the city’s technological development. Watch the video
