More than 60,000 people have trained in digital skills through Barcelona Activa during the period 2019-2022. This and many other facts and figures formed part of the balance that was presented during the first conference on digital talent organised in Barcelona. The event was held on 17th October at the Nou Barris Technology Park and counted on the collaboration of the Escola 42, the Ateneu de Fabricació (Fab Lab) and the Cibernàrium. 

The conference served to gather together the digital talent training actions promoted by Barcelona City Council in recent years. The event included activities and workshops related to prototyping, programming and the digital life cycle aimed at all kinds of people, from children to the elderly. A sample of the initiatives launched by Barcelona Activa to boost citizens' digital talent and to minimise the generational and gender technological gap.

During the event, institutional representatives such as the first Deputy Mayor, Jaume Collboni, and the Managing Director of Barcelona Activa, Fèlix Ortega, presented a balance of the digital training strategies promoted by the council and the local agency, within the framework of the government measure 'Barcelona, city of talent'.

Barcelona City Council, through Barcelona Activa, has invested a budget of 20 million Euros in digital training during the period 2019-2022. More than 35,000 people have been trained at the Cibernàrium, which include the more than 24,000 people participating in STEAM vocations training, almost 9,000 people in the Cibernàrium antenna network and more than 2,000 people in the IT Academy, the training centre specialised in programming and data management.
