Barcelona, 31 Jul 2026
The Saló de l’Ocupació will return to Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuïc venue on 21 and 22 October with an expanded programme designed to facilitate access to new career opportunities. Organised by Fira de Barcelona and promoted by Barcelona City Council through Barcelona Activa, the event will double its exhibition space compared with the previous edition and will feature a greater number of companies, organisations and employment-related resources.
Under the slogan “We Open Doors for You”, the event is aimed at both people entering the labour market for the first time and professionals seeking employment, considering a career change or looking to update their skills. Its goal is to provide practical tools, personalised guidance and direct access to job opportunities in a dynamic and accessible environment.
One of the main highlights of this year’s edition will be the expanded area devoted to career opportunities, significantly increasing the presence of companies with active job vacancies. This space will facilitate direct contact between talent and organisations, helping to streamline recruitment processes. Among the new features is Talent Live, a networking initiative that will enable participants to take part in short interviews tailored to their profiles. The event will also introduce sector-specific job marketplaces, recruitment spaces focused on industries with a high demand for professionals.
The Saló de l’Ocupació will strengthen its training and career guidance offering through sector-focused areas providing information on education pathways, job opportunities and live trade demonstrations. Young people will also have access to a dedicated space where they can explore career options and learn about different routes into the labour market.
The programme will be complemented by personalised guidance services, practical workshops and conferences covering emerging industries and labour market trends. Participants will be able to improve their applications, update their skills and prepare for recruitment processes with the support of innovative technologies, including artificial intelligence.
The event will also host a conference for employment experts and stakeholders, building on the initiative launched during the previous edition within the framework of the Barcelona Agreement for Quality Employment 2021-2030 (ABOQ).
The Saló de l’Ocupació will take place in Hall 8 of Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuïc venue from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Admission will be free of charge with prior registration through the event website and allocated time slots.
