Barcelona, 09 Oct 2025
The fourth edition of the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit (BDTS) will arrive from 4th to 6th November at the Gran Via venue of Fira Barcelona. The event will bring together more than 2,500 participants, including start-ups, spin-offs, investors and researchers, companies and institutions in the deep tech sector, in a space dedicated to innovation, knowledge transfer and the creation of new opportunities.
The aim of the Summit is to connect talent, share knowledge and build the future, fostering the transfer of scientific and technological knowledge to the market, while promoting the creation of new innovative companies. The event, promoted by Barcelona Activa, is held in the framework of Smart City Expo World Congress, which also hosts the Tomorrow. Blue Economy, dedicated to exploring the future of the blue economy.
Over the course of three days, the Summit will explore deep tech and focus on three major issues that will define our future:
-
The Future of Life and the Planet will tackle the major challenges linked to health, sustainability, biodiversity and the energy transition.
-
Computing and Tech Sovereignty will focus on space technologies, advanced computing, artificial intelligence and technological sovereignty.
-
From Lab to Market will address knowledge transfer, entrepreneurship, scientific talent and access to venture capital to boost new start-ups.
The programme will include talks, workshops, product demonstrations, networking spaces and investment forums. Speakers of international prestige will participate who will present success stories, innovations in deep tech and perspectives applied to the development of emerging projects. Among the speakers highlighted are Agnès Arbat (Oxolife), Albert Mascarell (Mobile World Capital Barcelona), Alejandro Rodríguez (Celera), Alessandro Zaccaria (360 Capital), Aline Noizet (Digital Health Connector) and Ana Jiménez Pastor (Quibim). Start-ups and spin-offs linked to collaborating educational institutions will also participate, who will present their solutions in dedicated spaces, strengthening the link between research and the market.
The Barcelona Deep Tech Summit is a key space for companies and start-ups to connect with talent, investors and innovative projects. The 2024 edition brought together more than 2,500 participants, and it is expected that the new edition will exceed this figure with more than 70 speakers and 50 start-up exhibitors.
