Barcelona Activa attended 161,780 people and 35,080 companies during the period 2019-2022, an increase in services and programmes in recent years. Since the pandemic, the economic promotion agency of Barcelona City Council has been able to recover full activity to the levels prior to 2020. The Board of Directors has made the data public in a meeting in which it has accounted for the actions and projects that were launched during 2022.

Last year Barcelona Activa attended 55,330 users. Of the total number of people who used the agency's services, 59% did so for the first time and 60% were women. In terms of age, 24% were under 30, 41% were between 30 and 45, and 35% were over 45. Furthermore, in this period up to 6,980 companies were accompanied, of which 84% are based in Barcelona. 

Beyond the specific figures, for Barcelona Activa the period of 2019-2022 was marked by the Covid-19 crisis and the subsequent economic recovery. However, in the last decade the agency has doubled the budget allocated to public employment policies and support for entrepreneurship and companies, up to a total of €61.2M in the last year.

The agency has also launched and intensified support programmes and services for citizens and companies, especially those that have suffered the most: commerce, self-employed people, working women, businesswomen or women entrepreneurs and groups such as the elderly and young people. In order to approach services to the citizens, last year also saw the opening of new facilities such as The Convent (Ciutat Vella), InnoBA Ca n’Andalet (Horta-Guinardó), Sant Andreu Activa and Les Corts Activa.
