Fira de Barcelona (The Barcelona Trade Fair) will host a new edition of the Smart City Expo World Congress between 7th and 9th November. The international congress will focus on debating about the new urban era that is emerging and analysing the challenges that cities must face. A meeting place that will bring together executives from large companies, organisations and institutions with the desire to create safer, greener and more efficient urban spaces.

Barcelona City Council will have a stand at the congress where Barcelona Activa will also be present in order to provide visibility for the smart, entrepreneurial and sustainable projects of the city. In the Smart City Expo projects will be presented on urban transformation, digital innovation and knowledge, as well as economy and competitiveness.

The City Council aims to promote transformative initiatives to position Barcelona as one of the world's main centres of talent and emerging companies. There will be an exhibition space to show the most outstanding projects promoted, such as CONNECTIO, digitalisation of SMEs and self-employed workers, Oficina 22@ (22@ One-Stop Service), Barcelona Talent Map and the 37th America’s Cup Barcelona 2024.

Furthermore, the stand will have an agora where municipal initiatives will be presented. For example, on 8th November at 10 a.m. there will be a roundtable with representatives of companies that have launched CONNECTIO challenges and collaborating start-ups.  On the same day, at 12 noon, there will also be a talk and a networking space on the energy sector and the environment in collaboration with the Catalan Efficient Energy Cluster. Consult the full programme of the stand.

Barcelona Activa will also give space to 9 companies related to the agency so that they can make their innovative projects known: Tannus, Lobelia, Smart Data System, Sitep, Ctrl4Enviro, Seabots, Taxitronic, Mylock and Etecnic.

As well as the Smart City Expo, the congress Tomorrow. Blue Economy will also be held during the same dates. A new international event dedicated to boosting and developing the potential of the blue economy promoted by Barcelona Activa with Fira de Barcelona, Port of Barcelona-Smart Ports and the World Ocean Council.
