The Mentoring + programme concludes the 2022 editions

The programme connects mentors with people looking to improve their professional situation

Barcelona, 17 Jun 2022

The Mentoring+ programme has just completed the two editions held during the first half of 2022. The initiative, promoted by Barcelona Activa, aims to help unemployed people over the age of 50 to reactivate their job search. The project promotes mentoring to provide individual support for four months to people who want to improve their work situation.

Mentors are volunteers from the city who want to share their professional experience in a supportive way. In order to get the participants to improve their professional situation, an itinerary of group activities is offered that includes training actions for job search, development of personal skills and group coaching sessions.

The 19th and 20th editions of the Mentoring + programme for job reactivation were attended by 46 people, mostly women between the ages of 50 and 55. Most of the people mentored were in a situation of long-term unemployment and have improved their self-confidence after four months of support. Furthermore, 10 participants have already found work and 23 more have done job interviews since the start of the project, last February.
