A new edition of the Crea Feina Plus Barcelona programme grants begins, a call promoted by Barcelona City Council, through Barcelona Activa. Grants will be awarded for up to 8,000 Euros to companies and self-employed people who hire people in a situation of long-term unemployment.

The initiative will have a budget of 2 million Euros and aims to create more than 300 new jobs in Barcelona and the metropolitan area. Furthermore, the call aims to help companies hire new staff and reactivate employment in the city. All new recruitments are focused on employing people who are long-term unemployed or at risk of exclusion and must have a minimum duration of 6 months.

The hiring companies will receive a subsidy of €5,000 in the case of contracting unemployed men between the ages of 30 and 44 years old. The programme provides a bonus, with subsidies up to €6,000 in the new contracts for women and men under 30 and over 45 years old. In the case of people at risk of exclusion, the contribution ranges from €2,000 to €6,000 in the case of part-time work and can reach up to €8,000 in the case of full-time jobs.
