Barcelona City Council, through Barcelona Activa, is launching a new edition of the call for grants with the aim of easing the expenses that self-employed people have to bear during the first year of activity. The Activa Autòno+ subsidies will be up to 3,000 euros and the amount of the subsidy will be calculated according to the expenses justified at the time of the application. 

Deductible expenses are linked to expenses such as Social Security contributions, the rent of premises or offices and also co-working spaces and taxes on the start of economic activity. Derivatives of energy consumption such as electricity, gas and fuel can also be charged, as well as management and advisory expenses. 

The initiative is aimed at all people registered in the city of Barcelona who are self-employed, but also at people who are members of associated work cooperatives. The new economic activity must have started from 1st October, 2021. However, people applying for the grant need to fulfil some minimum requirements to be able to qualify for these subsidies.
