Barcelona Activa has different calls for open grants to support businesses and the self-employed

Barcelona, 19 Jul 2023

Barcelona City Council, through Barcelona Activa, has different calls for grants for companies and the self-employed. The agency works constantly to support and boost the city's businesses and collaborates with various programmes and subsidies aimed at different groups.

The first call to close is that of the grants, Activa Autòno+, which ends on 5th September. The programme offers subsidies of up to 3,000 euros to ease the expenses of the first year of activity for new self-employed people. The expenses that can be justified are linked to Social Security contributions, the rent of premises or offices and also of co-working spaces and taxes on the start of the activity.

The second one is Intermedia Locals, the call for subsidies to intermediation that seeks to promote the installation of businesses and shops in vacant premises in the city, which ends next 30th September. The initiative aims to put people who own premises without any established economic activity, at least in the last 12 months, in contact with entrepreneurs or companies looking for premises, and offers subsidies of up to 3,000 euros upon the signing the rental contract.

In the case of the Premises with energy grants, the application period closes on 31st October. This is a call of up to 3,000 euros focused on promoting efficiency and energy saving in ground floor premises in the city of Barcelona. The subsidies will be allocated to investments that facilitate the sustainability of establishments with economic activity, located at street level.

The Crea Feina Plus programme is also underway with the aim of fostering the hiring of people who are unemployed or who are part of groups with difficulties in finding work. The grants will be open until 3rd November and are aimed at companies and the self-employed who offer new contracts to under-30s, women, over-45s and people in long-term unemployment. The amount of the grant can reach 8,000 euros and is conditional on the situation of the person hired person.
