Barcelona hosts Gamelab, the European benchmark congress in the video games sector. During three days, from 28 to 30 June, 67 different activities are being carried out in five simultaneous locations: the Barcelona Activa MediaTIC building, the Disseny Hub, the Palau de la Música Catalana, Pier 01 - Tech Barcelona and the offices of the studio IO Interactive. The event is held with the aim of sharing knowledge and experiences among the ecosystem.

The arrival of the Gamelab was attended by more than 250 companies and organisations related to video games, a growing sector with prospects for expansion in the future. The new edition of the congress also served to confirm the growth of the Catalan video game hub, which brought together more than 120 international industry leaders in Barcelona to discuss the challenges that must be faced in the coming years.

As well as acting as host of the congress' conferences, Barcelona Activa participated in a talk on how to finance projects. José Pedro Tarango, a business services technician, explained the business advisory and financing initiatives offered by the agency together with Cai Felip from Union Avatars, Union Avatars, a start-up installed in the Glòries Incubator, Xavier Prats from Tap Tap Tales and Daniel Sintas from Garage51.
