Barcelona has a new map to find out how the city's talent behaves. The interactive tool that x-rays the professional profiles of the city and its metropolitan area was presented today. The launch of the website was carried out as part of the third edition of the conference Barcelona REACT 2023.

The aim of the map is to present synthetically and visually the behaviour, trends and evolution of the talent registered on LinkedIn. The professional network collaborates in the project by facilitating access and processing up to 1.8 million professional records that Barcelona and the metropolitan area have as their environment. The data is drawn from the LinkedIn Talent Insights platform, which provides anonymous and aggregated data. 

The new interactive radiography is structured in three axes: generation, development and attraction, and retention of talent. The generation axis shows the training chosen by the talent of Barcelona and the contribution of the educational centres. The development axis focuses on the knowledge and skills highlighted in the city, the distribution by economic sectors and the growth and demand in the labour market. And, finally, the axis regarding attraction and retention addresses the flows of talent and shows the movements of professionals between cities and between work areas.

The initiative responds to the strategy “Barcelona, city of talent” and positions Barcelona Activa as the agency dedicated to the generation, development, attraction and loyalty of Barcelona's talent. It also responds to the lines established by the Barcelona Green Deal, the economic agenda that guides the current and future economic challenges of the city.
