Barcelona, 05 Oct 2020

Last week the virtual conference 'The future of working time' took place, an event where the reconciliation and co-responsible organisation in the digital age were discussed, and where the impact of the crisis was also analysed in the life of companies and organisations and in the economy of the city.

The conference forms part of the Barcelona Time Pact, a city-wide agreement for a healthier, more egalitarian and efficient organisation of time, promoted by Barcelona City Council and with the collaboration of social and economic organizations.

The aim of the debate was to highlight the need to obtain new ways of organising working time so as to achieve more productive companies, to attract and retain talent, promote employment, ensure gender equality as a business value, and increase the satisfaction of the workers.

In the words of Jaume Collboni, First Deputy Mayor of Barcelona City Council: "Remote work is here to stay, and what has until now been prioritised over conciliation must be modulated".

At the end of the event, the Barcelona Award was given to the innovative company in reconciliation and time 2019, which recognises good practices in time management. The winning companies of this 8th edition were: Fundació Oxfam Intermon, Iterem, Acefat, VoxelGroup and Suara Cooperativa.
