Barcelona hosts the Local Skills Week
The OECD Local Skills Week has begun, focused on the new challenges and future goals of cities in the labour market
Barcelona, 16 Feb 2022
The first events and talks are already underway of the OECD Local Skills Week 2022, an international conference focused on the new future challenges of cities in the workplace. The event is being held virtually until 17th February and includes talks and presentations. Barcelona City Council, through Barcelona Activa, is collaborating with the organisation of the meetings.
For three days, leading experts, policy makers and local professionals have come together to explore the opportunities that the economic future will bring to cities. Discussions will be carried out about what actions are being taken by local and municipal leaders to prepare local labour markets and adult learning systems for the jobs of today and tomorrow.
Apart from organising the event, Barcelona City Council has also promoted a talk with the participation of the Commissioner for Employment and Policies Against Precariousness, Raquel Gil. The talk is focused on the development of quality employment policies that put people at the centre.
