Barcelona Activa expands its choice of online training courses

During the summer months, Barcelona Activa has reinforced its programme of online courses in response to the growing demand from professionals and companies

Barcelona, 10 Sep 2020

During the summer months, Barcelona Activa has reinforced its programme of online courses in response to the growing demand from professionals and companies. This July saw 56,000 enrolments, 43% more than in 2019.

The number of people enrolled in technical training courses this year has increased by 85% compared to last year. This fact proves that virtual training has now consolidated its place in the world of professional development and that digitalisation has a pivotal role to play in the training sector.

Given that technology companies have been less affected by the crisis and generate more jobs than other sectors, Barcelona Activa is committed to backing programmes and public policies that foster digital talent and reskilling

Barcelona Activa’s training is free, open, and available to any citizen who wants to find work or improve their professional profile.

Barcelona Activa uses the Cibernàrium and the Barcelona Treball website to offer all sorts of training experiences, depending on the user's objectives. The Cibernàrium is a municipal service designed to disseminate and harness technology. It offers courses to improve citizens’ digital skills, with around 100 weekly activities, including masterclasses with renowned experts such as Genís Roca, Karme Peiró, Simona Levi and Esther Paniagua. Barcelona Treball focuses its training on the Virtual Classroom. In August, it offered 55 activities to continue training for those interested in improving their professional skills and finding work.
