Barcelona Activa finances 156 local economy projects

The 'Impulsem el que fas' (We boost what you do) programme reaches its seventh edition allocating 2.5 million euros to promote enriching initiatives for neighbourhoods

Barcelona, 24 Nov 2023

'Impulsem el que fas' has concluded the seventh edition of the programme focused on strengthening the economy rooted in the territories. Barcelona City Council, through Barcelona Activa, has subsidised up to 156 local projects out of the 679 applications submitted. The initiative seeks to promote enriching proposals for all neighbourhoods created by individuals, companies or entities from the third sector.

'Impulsem el que fas' has accompanied activities as diverse as cultural, gastronomic, medical and healing spaces. The different modalities of the programe have financed projects rooted in the territory that encourage entrepreneurship; quality employment; responsible consumption; revitalizing ground floor premises; innovation; and local logistics with zero-emission vehicles.

The differentiating feature of this edition has been the diversity both of sectors and locations of the projects presented. 30% of the projects financed have scope throughout the city, but among the districts that have promoted the most initiatives are Ciutat Vella (20%), Sant Martí (10%), Sants-Montjuïc (9%) and L'Eixample (8%).

The programme has the particularity that it finances up to 80% of the budget of each project with a limit of 40,000 euros. The exception is in the 'Amunt Persianes' (Raise the shutters) modality, which places a maximum of 20,000 euros for the opening of ground floor businesses and 6,000 euros for active ground floor businesses included in the Neighbourhood Plan.

If you want to know the requirements or apply for the next edition of the grants, which will open from the second quarter of 2024 with new modalities, you will find all the information at this link
