The Barcelona City Council, through Barcelona Activa, will invest 10 million euros in national or international private venture capital entities, to boost the deeptech ecosystem of the city within the framework of the Barcelona Green Deal economic agenda.

The selected venture capital entities will be required to invest in startups in the DeepTech field.

Presentation of startups to Business Angels, venture capital firms and corporations.

Meeting point aimed at deep tech startups (established or in the process of being established) in pre-seed and seed stage, mainly linked to advanced materials, artificial intelligence, blockchain, robotics, photonics, electronics, quantum computing and space technologies.

The Seed Deep Tech Barcelona Investment Forum is organised by Barcelona Deep Tech Node and EsadeBAN.

Support in the processing of public aids linked to deep tech startups. A group of experts will support startups in identifying and processing applications for public financial instruments, in particular:

• CDTI: Cervera and Neotec
• Ministry of Science and Innovation: Torres Quevedo
• ACCIO: Startup Capital
• EIC Accelerator of the European Comission

Financial support to bring your technology to market. Financial support to prove that the developed technology has value and can be exploited. Proofs of concept will mainly target to:

• validate the technology in environments outside the laboratory,
• analyse commercial viability,
• define and implement the industrial and intellectual property protection strategy.

Connection between startups and consolidated companies that need to find new technological solutions.

Intermediation service and contact between companies and startups through different initiatives:

• presentation of technology solutions,
• conducting pilot tests,
• solution to challenge calls,
• acceleration programmes.

Incorporation of a mentor for a period of 6 months to complement the CEO or to act as the CEO if the startup (incorporated with less than 5 years of activity, located in Barcelona or metropolitan area) does not have this figure. The mentor will be a person with extensive experience in the setting-up of deep tech startups. He/she will mainly contribute to the following tasks:

• Product development, definition of regulatory roadmap, certifications
• Preparation of the financing round, negotiation with investors, approaching public financing
• Business development, definition of gotoMarket Strategy, implementation of business plan
• Define and analyze the structure of operations, identify areas for improvement, establish new processes

Interview day with candidates with experience in business development and sales of technology products. Find profiles linked to the areas of:

• Business development
• Sales and marketing
• Digital marketing

Meeting point between startups, investors and corporations in the deep tech field. A unique opportunity to raise awareness and position deep tech startups in the entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem.
