Barcelona Activa recognises people who have found work through labour integration programmes

The agency holds an event with 800 long-term unemployed people reintegrated into the labour market through projects that foster hiring

Barcelona, 09 Nov 2022

The Employment Fair has become one of the tools to promote the creation of quality work in Barcelona. To celebrate, Barcelona Activa has organised an event to recognise the nearly 800 long-term unemployed who have joined the labour market in 2022. Of the total number of people who have managed to re-enter, 50% were at risk of exclusion and 54.5% were women.

The municipal agency has allocated €10.5M to employment and training programmes so that people can train and opt for more stable and indefinite contracts. Recruitment and training have been promoted through 3 municipal programmes that encourage recruitment: Crea feina PlusCases d’Oficis – Trade Skills Houses and Integral Projects for Hiring.

From Barcelona Activa we work to reduce unemployment and increase the quality of employment and tackle economic instabilities and inequalities. In line with this, we have also promoted the Barcelona Agreement for Quality Employment (ABOQ), an agreement to consolidate Barcelona as an international benchmark in the promotion of equity and quality in the labour market.
