Barcelona is positioning itself as a benchmark in the field of deep tech, as highlighted by the fact that the World Nature Index ranking places the Catalan capital in the ‘top ten’ of European cities in the scientific field. On 22nd September, Barcelona will gather together experts from leading companies and solutions based on technology and sustainability in the same congress: the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit.

The international congress will focus on science and technology-based entrepreneurship and will serve to make known the proposals of start-ups from universities and research centres in the city. There will also be presentations on the most disruptive advances in areas such as health, biotechnology, urban mobility, industry, quantum and New Space. The event will host 500 specialists and more than 30 experts and will feature with the participation of large corporations and investment groups.

The Barcelona Deep Tech Summit was born from the ‘Barcelona Deep Tech Node’ initiative, promoted by Barcelona City Council, Barcelona Activa and the five Catalan public universities: the UB, the UAB, the UPC, the UPF and the UOC. Through this alliance, science-based projects are supported, providing them with more resources and tools to develop in the city, strengthening their economic dimension and accelerating their market entry process.
