The BCN Health Booster is already up and running. The new acceleration programme is aimed at companies in the health sector that have less than 5 years of experience. The initiative is aimed at emerging projects that develop pharmaceutical products, biotechnology or medical devices, as well as companies that need the use of a laboratory to carry out their tasks.

The Barcelona Science Park and Barcelona City Council, with the support of Barcelona Activa and with the collaboration of Biocat, are boosting the programme in the context of the Barcelona Science Plan. An investment of 1 million Euros is available to promote innovation in health and the return to society of the investment in research. In addition, access is offered to a laboratory in the Barcelona Science Park, for exclusive use or for coworking. 

The first edition lasts 3 years and will promote a total of 11 emerging companies with an innovative business project in the field of health. The candidates selected have been Aptadel Therapeutics, Artificial Nature, Bioliquid Innovative Genetics, DeepUII, GAT Biosciences, GAT Therapeutics, MiMARK, Nuage Therapeutics and Ona Therapeutics, Oncoheroes Biosciences and OneChain.

Among the selected companies, there is a spin-off of research centres of excellence and start-ups in the health sector. Among others, the acceleration programme includes coaching, training and investment.
