Fighting to prevent school drop-outs and school failure. Within these goals you can find the programme Starting-up with values, an initiative promoted by Barcelona Activa and Barcelona City Council jointly with the Education Consortium of Barcelona, the Fundació Barcelona FP (Vocational Training Foundation) and the Foundation FemCAT. The programme is aimed at students from different institutes in the city and includes talks from other young people, design of projects made by participants and also a hackathon and a final gala.

The programme, which has been running for 20 years, aims to enhance the school and professional success of the students. The talks of young people are used to share positive experiences in the field of work values, key skills and entrepreneurship. During the academic year 2021-22, more than 13,000 students from up to 171 different educational centres participated, and 610 activities were organised onsite or online.

Starting up with values is included as one of the four modalities of the Professional Life or ProVP project, a tool promoted by the City Council. It is an instrument for academic and professional guidance in secondary schools. It also includes other activities and training workshops aimed at job search and the promotion of the Social and Solidarity Economy, among others.
