BNEW, the event in Barcelona for global economic recovery

Barcelona hosts the first major event for global economic recovery: the Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW)

Barcelona, 06 Oct 2020

Barcelona hosts the first major event for global economic recovery: the Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW). From 6th to 9th October, Barcelona becomes the headquarters of the new economy, with a B2B event that connects strategic sectors for global economic development: logistics, digital industry, e-commerce, real estate and economic zones.

The Barcelona New Economy Week is presented as the major event to redesign the productive fabric on a global scale. And it does so with an innovative hybrid format that allows it to be followed online through a powerful technological platform, by means of the simultaneous production broadcast in high quality streaming in 6 channels, one for each sector. More than 160 hours of content and 8,000 attendees, 30% of whom are international.

The goals of the event are in line with the city model promoted by Barcelona City Council, the BCN Green Deal, based on competitiveness, sustainability and equity. In this context, the guide 'Barcelona never stops’ has just been published with 55 practical resources for finding work, starting up, becoming trained or boosting a company.

Barcelona Activa participates in different sessions, such as the 'Global Cities' debate with the First Deputy Mayor, Jaume Collboni, and the urban planner Greg Clark, on the impact of the digital revolution on the business world; an event on future opportunities in the logistics sector; and the presentation of the 'Awards for the Best Innovation' that the entity organises in collaboration with La Salle Technova to recognise the most innovative initiatives among those presented at the BNEW.
