The project 'Barcelona Accelera' presented its balance of results at the Tech Spirit Barcelona. An initiative, promoted by Barcelona City Council, which fosters the promotion of innovative companies and the preservation of competitiveness with 10 million Euros in 6 private venture capital funds that manage more than 400 million Euros.

So far, a total of 91 companies have been invested in: 53 are in Barcelona, which employ more than 3,000 jobs and have received an investment of 89 million Euros. Of these, a total of 14 entities are led by women and they account for 31 million Euros of the total invested in the city.

The aims of this programme include multiplying municipal investment in Barcelona, equalising investment in companies led by women or with a presence in the management team, as well as investing in strategic sectors included in the Barcelona Green Deal plan: the digital economy, creative industries, green economy, industry 4.0, health and bio, sport and sport tech, food and food tech, and the blue economy.
