The Barcelona City Council organises a conference to discuss how authorities can boost economic development

‘Barcelona Fàcil’ will be held on the 14th of December in an online format and will feature world-class experts in the field of e-government.

Barcelona, 09 Dec 2020

Next Monday, the virtual event “Barcelona Fàcil: fostering economic activity in the city” will take place from 3pm to 7pm. The event has been organised by the Barcelona City Council, whose objective is to create a debate space and reflect on how city authorities can help to boost economic development following the effects of the pandemic.

As well as discussing all the actions and measures which are being implemented to reactivate the economy, the conference will also be an opportunity to initiate the Barcelona Fàcil Plan, a new programme led by the Barcelona City Council, which looks to improve and optimise administrative and legal transactions between businesses and local authorities.

The conference will feature world-class experts in the field of e-government and government policies of modernisation, such as the Managing Director of e-Estonia, Anna Piperal, and the Author and Advisor of Global Cities, Charles Landry, who will share their ideas and experiences in two talks. Also participating in different roundtable discussions will be entrepreneurs and managers of venture capital firms, CEOs and CIOs of cities such as Tel Aviv, as well as representatives from Barcelona Activa, the Barcelona City Council and other local authorities.

Throughout the event, the potential of talent and technology as driving forces of economic growth, the position of cities on a global map, digital governments and the use of creativity in city management will also be addressed.
