Barcelona City Council launches the 'Pla Barcelona Fàcil'

This plan aims to improve the relationship between the economic stakeholders and the local administration in order to reactivate economic activity

Barcelona, 17 Jun 2021

Barcelona City Council presents the 'Pla Barcelona Fàcil' (The Easy Barcelona Plan), a project that seeks to simplify, enable and improve the relationship between economic stakeholders such as entrepreneurs, business people and citizens in general with the local administration when starting up an economic activity.

The main aim is to turn Barcelona City Council into a facilitator of business and entrepreneurial initiatives of social, economic, cultural and scientific innovation that can be turned into opportunities to generate wealth and talent for the city.

To fulfil this aim, the City Council intends to reduce the time and barriers for procedures with local governments. In this way, it will foster and enable anyone who has an idea to be able to develop it and, as a consequence, the economy of the territories can be reactivated.

One of the measures that is already being implemented to encourage business activity in the city and facilitate administrative procedures is the opening of the New 22@ Office, a service located in the OAE (Business Support Office) and aimed exclusively at companies and entrepreneurs, investors or professionals (from engineering, architecture, management, etc.).

At a regulatory level, the elimination of the tax for starting up an activity from 2020 and the accession to the FUE (Business One-Stop Shop), a physical or virtual space from where entrepreneurs, business people and intermediaries can carry out all the necessary arrangements to develop any activity, regardless of the administration responsible.

With the 'Pla Barcelona Fàcil', the City Council of the Catalan capital aims to improve the position of the city of Barcelona as an easy city.
