Barcelona Activa is working on improving the work of the city's residents of all ages. In order to support people of any generation, we have specific projects and services for the youth sector such as the initiative, ‘Return with Opportunities’. The programme is aimed at workers between 18 and 25 years old who want to return to Barcelona after having gone abroad.   

'Return with opportunities' offers advice on procedures for returning, employment mediation and entrepreneurship for young people living a professional experience abroad. Since its inception about five years ago, the initiative has already provided support to 136 young people, who are distributed between 93 women and 43 men. Regarding the total, 30 participants have returned to Barcelona and 24 have already found work. Most work in the Health and Life Sciences, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Industry sectors.

The profile of participants included in the programme stands out for its high level of education, with 18 young people having a doctorate, 52 with a Master’s degree and 50 people who have studied a bachelor’s degree or diploma. The recovery of young talent has also included accompanying 14 people with higher vocational training (FPGS), one with high school studies and another with ESO, secondary education.
